About a year ago I purchased several vintage photos at the flea market. I put them away in a safe place, and just recently found them again.
When I purchased them, they were all in a baggie with a little tag that says "All from same photo album". I don't have the photo album, I only have the pictures. There are 9 photos, most are larger and about 8 by 10.5 inches. One is smaller and measures about 4.75 by 7 inches.
Several have writing on the back:
-The first two photos have the studio name of "Photo by Walden S. Fabry, 319 S. Jefferson, Peoria Illinois". Handwritten in pencil on the back of one of these it says "D.L. Daves". I believe these two photos are of the same man.
-Next is a photo of a young woman. The back of it says "Return to Mrs G. Daves, 500 Western Ave.".
-On the back of the photo of the woman in the polka dot dress it has the studio name of "Block & Kuhl Co. Peoria, Ill".
-Then there are two photos that I believe has the same man in them. In one he is with a woman. The one where he is by himself has written at the top "Love Nick".
-Next there is a photo of a young woman and another photo of a baby. Neither have any writing on them.
-Last, there is the smaller photo. It's hard to see, but it's of a man sitting in the woods petting a dog. The back of it says "Bill's friend 193?".
Whenever I see photos like this I try to rescue them. Being a genealogist, I know the feeling of someone finding your family photos and returning them to you. It happened to me once, so I try to pay it forward. I can't do it too often because of the cost involved, but whenever I sell a set, I use the money to rescue more.
The price I'm quoting for delivery is for a USPS Priority Flat Rate Envelope. I choose that delivery method because those envelopes are cardboard and help to protect the photos. Regular 1st Class mailing is an option, but I can just about guarantee you that the photos will be bent, folded, possibly torn, and any number of other problems. If you'd like me to send them by 1st class mail, and you are willing to accept the possible circumstances just let me know and I can quote you a price. I'm guessing the difference in cost would be around $2.
Buyer to pay $9.95 Priority Flat Rate charges from Nevada.
SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT SHIPPING CHARGES: Twice yearly, and again in November for the holiday season (so three times per year) the postal service increases shipping charges. This is what they call their "Delivering For America" plan in which they hope to become profitable. It's a 10 year plan that started in 2021, so we've got years to go with multiple price increases on shipping charges each year. I try to absorb the new charges and haven't increased my shipping charges in three years. This year unfortunately, I havve to if I want to stay in business. I'll try to keep it reasonable and even absorb some of the increases when possible.
I do combine shipping on multiple items purchased as long as all items will safely fit into a single box or envelope. However, my web host is not set up to calculate multiple item shipping costs. At checkout, you will be charged full shipping price on each item purchased and I will refund the appropriate amount of overpayment. If you are uncomfortable with that, you can send me an email with your zip code and stating which items you'll be purchasing and I'll calculate the correct combined shipping charges and send you a custom invoice.
INTERNATIONAL PURCHASED: Sorry, I do not ship to locations outside of the United States.
All items in my listings come from either estate or garage sales. I do not know if they come from homes where smoking or pets were present. Unless otherwise stated, all items are sold in the same condition as when I obtained them.
