This vintage 10 by 8 inch photo is of an African American church congregation. I'm confident it is a church photo because I see the preacher in his gown clutching the bible. Unfortunately, there is no date or location on the actual photo. Looking at the clothing, I'd guess this could have been taken in the 1930s.
There are two possibilities for the location. The strongest possibility is Woodland California. I say that because it was in an old manila envelope that has the photographer's return address located in Woodland. The other possibility is New Orleans Louisiana. The reason I say that is because when I purchased this, it was in a box with many other photos. There were only two other photos with African American black folks and they had the photographer's location of New Orleans.
This listing is for the congregation photo only. The other two photos mentioned above will be in a separate listing because I don't know if this photo belongs with those other two. But I do combine shipping, so if you think they contain your family and would like them all, the delivery charge will be combined.
