This is one of several unusual shells that I purchased recently at an estate sale. I was told the previous owner was a world traveler and that whenever she was near the ocean she would go shelling. She sure found some beautiful specimens. When I received this one, it was bagged with a small note that read '4" (101mm) Junonia. Florida'.
per Wikipedia:
The scientific name is Scaphella Junonia and it is a species of large sea snail. It lives in waters of the tropical Atlantic Ocean. Because of its deep water habitat, the shell usually only washes up on to beaches after strong storms or hurricanes.
You will receive the exact shell that you see in my photo. There are no breaks, chips, or cracks in the shell.
Delivery will be via USPS First Class Insured Mail. Since the insurance is for the protection of both of us, I split that cost with the buyer. Buyer to pay $4.95 delivery charges.
To avoid duplicate shipping charges, please contact seller for combined shipping charges if multiple purchases are desired.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING depends on the country. Buyer must contact seller for shipping quote before making purchase. Seller reserves the right to void any transactions where contact has not been made prior to purchasing.
Items in my listings come from estate sales, garage sales, or various auctions. I do not know if they came from homes where smoking or pets were present. All items are sold in the same condition as when I received them.
