This U.S. Department of the Air Force Security Police Badge is in excellent condition. I obtained it at an estate sale. The seller stated that it belonged to her uncle and that he served with the Air Force Police in Vietnam the late 1960s. She said he was honorably discharged in March 1970. According to her, she knew this because she has his discharge papers, along with other military items that belonged to him. She said he never had children, so when he passed in 1995, his possessions went to her.
The front of the badge states "Security Police, Department of the Air Force, United States of America". It has a serial number at the bottom. The back has the letters "G I" and the letter A. The back has an applied bar running vertically that hold the prongs for the double clutch holders. Underneath that bar there appears to be more writing, but I can't tell what it says.
The badge measures about 1.75 inches top to bottom, 1 inch side to side.
It will be mailed via USPS First Class mail with postal insurance and SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION required. Meaning, the package must be signed for at the time of delivery. Since those safeguards are for the protection of both of us, I split those costs with the buyer.
