What a cute box for this sewing kit. The top has a kitten playing with a spool of thread. All around the outer sides are more kittens and they are also playing with thread. Inside there are 20 spools of thread (my photo shows 18 spools but Ive located 2 others). The spools are 3/4 by 5/8 inch. Most have had usage but several look as though they have not been used at all. I purchased this at an estate sale, so can't give exact info on usage.
The top of the box has the company name of Belding Heminway Corticelli. I found info online that in 1932 Corticelli merged with Belding Heminway to create the new company so this should be from some time in the 1930s. The box measures 6.5 by 3.75 by just under 1 inch tall.
The box has some scrapes, mainly on the corners. You should be able to see this in my photos.
