I believe this hat is called a Pill Box Hat. It is about 2 to 2.5 inches tall, depending on where it's measured. It is just slightly mis-shaped, which of course corrects itself when worn. As close as I can get to the inside measurements would be about 6.5 inches across, or 19.5 inches inside diameter. I believe the material is velvet.
The netting comes to eye level. The netting looks in good condition and I see no tears.
There are no tags inside to state who the maker is or an age. Researching this hat, I see several that are very much like this one with estimates of being from the 1940s and 1950s. I'm not saying this hat is from one of those decades, but there is a very good chance that it is.
